This database has been designed for the centralised storage of files, documents, drawings, notes, reports, etc. on a CERN internal basis. 

Most important document types:
 

• Internal Note: for quick notes, measurement reports, etc. To be approved by the Section Leader and uploaded to EDMS by the group secretary. Ask the group secretary for the Internal note number. Download the template here. 
   
• Technical Note: official notes for distribution/use within the whole group. To be approved by the Section Leader and uploaded to EDMS by the group secretary. Download the template here. 
   
• Visit Report: to be written after a visit of an institute/a company in the frame of an official trip. To be approved by the Group Leader (via the group secretariat) and uploaded to EDMS by the group secretary. Download the template here.

= CERN Document Server

Official documents such as conference papers, articles, proceedings and thesis are published on CDS. This database can be accessed inside as well as outside CERN and is also used for external reference.

Please note that very strict rules and guidelines apply for documents being published on the CERN Document Server. If you wish to publish a paper, please contact your group secretariat for further information.
